Christmas Eve 2013

We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas this year. I don't think we could have asked for a better one. We knew we would be traveling on Christmas Day so we had our family Christmas the day before. I made a huge breakfast and we stayed in our pajamas until noon and enjoyed the morning with nothing to do but be together. When our kids couldn't stand it anymore, we opened our family gifts to each other.

We give the kids a few dollars every year and let them go to Dollar Tree to buy gifts for us and for each other. It means we end up with stale popcorn and acrylic picture frames, but they love it so much and it means the world to them. So I will use my dull pizza cutter proudly.

Here's Will opening his present from Bennett. She was more excited to give him his present than to open any of hers. I loved watching that.

And so it begins.... Bennett got her very first American Girl Doll. She loved it.
Stale popcorn from the Dollar Tree is an awesome present when it is picked out by your 4 year old son.
 Hooray for Christmas!!
Lainey was here too! She woke up from her nap and wondered where the party went.
That night we went to the family service at our church.
My kids found their dear friends Sadie and Macy, of course.
Before bed we read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas....

 ......set out milk and cookies......
....and scattered reindeer food on our roof. Look closely at the top left window. You might see two small kids and one big one keeping a watch out for Santa.
