Happy 5th Birthday, Will

We had Will's (5th!!) birthday party at one of those inflatable places that had outdoor water slides. That's right. I did not have it at my house. And I hated it. Not really. It was actually the easiest party I have ever done, but I really did miss all of the prep that goes into parties. I missed not making fun decorations or the cake. But we held it the night of my drama camp performance, so there was no way in the world I could do it. And he had a blast, so I'll just save up all of my creative juices for Lainey's 2nd.

Turning 5 is not bad. Not bad at all.

On Will's actual birthday (July 1st) we were in Dallas, Texas. More on that later. We celebrated the night before with new friends. They were so sweet to get a cake for him and we were so grateful.

We decorated our hotel room with balloons and streamers and then we headed to downtown Dallas.

And then we headed to the subway station (who knew Dallas had a subway?!?) and the kids got to ride one for the first time.

We ended the day with Will's choice of dinner and dessert. He chose Chick-fil-A and ice cream. What a wise 5 year old. I really cannot believe my baby boy is 5. I could write a dozen blog posts on this sweet boy. And when I say that he is sweet, that doesn't do it justice. He has such a gentle and sensitive spirit and is truly one of the kindest little boys that I have ever known. He loves life, loves his family and loves the Lord. He is an incredible gift from above and I am so grateful for every one of the years that I have had him. We love you, buddy!
